Before you begin
This calculator is powered by artificial intelligence and provides estimated budget ranges only.

Actual costs may vary depending on the production company's quality standards, equipment used, and team experience level.

How is a video production budget calculated?

There is no single list price in video production. Two videos of the same length can cost three times as much as one another once shooting days, crew size, equipment and post-production scope differ. That is why no serious production company quotes a flat "corporate film: $X".

The calculator above asks the same questions we ask when preparing a real quote: what kind of video, how many shooting days, which city, what production quality, what post-production work. Based on your answers it produces an estimated budget range — a range, not a single figure, because quoting one number before the details are settled would be misleading.

No sign-up or payment is required. You can see the result on screen and, if you like, generate an AI-assisted production brief that is sent to your inbox.

How it works

  1. Describe your project

Pick the video type, shooting days, location, production quality and post-production scope. It takes about two minutes.

  2. See your estimated range

Your choices are weighted into a lower and upper bound, with a summary of your selections you can go back and change.

  3. Generate a brief if you want

AI turns your answers into a production brief covering scope, recommendations and things to watch out for. It is emailed to you.

  4. Ask for a real quote

If the range makes sense, turn it into a quote request in one click. Our team reviews the brief and prepares an itemised proposal.

What drives video production cost

Project type

The difference between a social media clip and a commercial is not just length — crew, equipment, casting and prep time are entirely different. This sets the baseline.

Shooting days

One of the largest line items. Crew, equipment and location costs are calculated per day, so a half-day shoot and a three-day shoot differ by a factor of two to three.

Production quality

Standard, premium and cinematic differ in camera and lens choice, lighting crew, art direction and overall crew size. A cinematic edit can cost more than twice the standard one.

Video length

Length directly affects editing, colour and sound time. The gap between a 30-second and a 5-minute video usually shows up in post-production, not on set.

Location and city

Shooting within Istanbul keeps logistics low. Out-of-town and international shoots add travel, accommodation and equipment transport. Studio shoots add rental costs.

Post-production scope

Editing and basic colour correction are in every project. Advanced grading, sound design, voice-over, motion graphics and animation/VFX are separate line items that move the budget significantly.

Example budget ranges

Project Scope Estimated range
Social media content Half day, Istanbul, edit + basic grading 22,000 – 32,000 TRY
Event coverage 1 full day, hotel/congress centre, edit 29,000 – 43,000 TRY
Live stream 1 full day, 2-3 cameras, Istanbul 43,000 – 64,000 TRY
Corporate film 1 full day, standard production, sound design 67,000 – 99,000 TRY
Corporate film 2 days, premium, studio, motion graphics 165,000 – 243,000 TRY
Commercial 2 days, cinematic, advanced grading + sound 427,000 – 628,000 TRY

These rows are example scenarios produced by the calculator's own formula, not a fixed price list. Running the tool above for your own project will give a more accurate result.

Estimate versus quote

The range the calculator gives is an early indication based on what comparable projects have cost. It is useful for budget planning, for taking a number to management, or for comparing several production companies.

A real quote is prepared once the script, storyboard, casting needs, location permits, special equipment and delivery schedule are settled. The gap usually comes down to one line item: drone work, actors, multilingual subtitles or a tight deadline. Treat the tool's output as a starting point, not a contract figure.

Frequently asked questions

Is this tool free?

Yes. The calculation is completely free and requires no membership. You do not have to pay or create an account to see the result.

Is the figure binding?

No. The range is an estimate and does not replace a quote. A binding price appears in the written proposal prepared once project details are settled.

Why a range instead of a single number?

Because the same brief can be produced in several ways. Script complexity, casting needs and delivery time all move the figure, so a single number before those are settled would be misleading.

Do I have to give my email?

You enter contact details to see the range; they are used to send you the result and, if you request it, the brief. You will not get sales calls unless you turn it into a quote request.

What exactly does the AI brief contain?

It writes up the project scope based on your selections, makes recommendations and lists things to watch out for. You can use it in conversations with your own team or with any production company.

Do the prices include VAT?

The ranges shown exclude VAT. VAT is stated separately in the final quote.

What if my budget is below the range?

Scope can be adjusted. Fewer shooting days, fewer locations or dropping some post-production items lowers the figure noticeably. Tell us your budget and we will propose a scope that fits it.

Does using my own equipment reduce the price?

In some cases, yes. And if you only need equipment, look at equipment rental instead of a full production service.
